About

CSS Religion was born in the beginning of 2008 and, like every other CSS gallery back then, its main focus was to feature well designed websites that were not using Flash(remember Flash?). Of course, there was a twist – CSS Religion would only feature religious websites.

Luckily, more and more churches realised how important it was to have a strong online presence, so they began hiring talented designers and developers to help them reach that goal. Noticing this movement, I thought it would be a good idea to somehow reward these churches by making a gallery where I would feature their websites. By the way, I still have all the full screenshots since day 1 :)

So, what about now? Well, CSS Religion will still feature the best designed church websites, but it won’t stop at that. My goal is to build the biggest resource of Christian design you can find online.

I hope this answers some of your questions, but if you want to talk some more, you can find me on Twitter or just write me an email at hello@cssreligion.com.

I noticed that you liked something I posted on dribbble yesterday https://dribbble.com/shots/1656569-Church-Welcome-Brochure-Questions-Spread?list=users&offset=0. I’m a designer in the San Francisco Bay Area and a co-founder for a design & development company called Gutensite. When I saw your name (meaning css religion) I was curious and found your site. I’m really impressed with the designs, sites and typography you’ve curated for the site. Much better than anything I’ve come across before. Pretty bad ass for a Christian actually :) I just wanted to say hi because you seem like someone I (and we at Gutensite) would like to know. We have a real passion for churches (churches.gutensite.com) and appreciate having some company in the push to move churches toward responsive (and good) design).

Anyhow, nice to meet you and thanks for the like on dribbble.

      Hi Daniela,

Indeed, Dribbble is one of the sources of content for this website, so I visit it quite often. This is how I stumbled upon your shot. I also checked out your website – http://churches.gutensite.com/ – you guys do top-notch work! The passion for both churches and good design is quite rare. It’s a good thing that a company like yours exists.

      Cheers!
